Rachel Andrew's family history

My family history research in and around Dilton Marsh, Wiltshire:

Early on in my research I was led to Dilton Marsh, my only link to my maternal grandfather's family was a photocopy of the mourning card for his mother, Edith Eliza JONES. This told me that she was interred at Dilton Church, Westbury, Wiltshire. My mother remembered being taken, by her father, to a farmhouse to meet two elderly men and one elderly woman who were her great aunts and uncles; brothers and sister of Edith Eliza. My mother told me of how she was taken to the church at Dilton Marsh and shown the spot where her father thought that his mother had been buried, in an unmarked grave at the age of 48.

Eventually I managed to trace the family, through census returns, and discovered that Edith Eliza, did in fact, come from Dilton Marsh and that generations of her family had lived there! It was with great excitement that I telephoned my mother, to tell her of one hundred years in her family's history!

I will be adding some of my own research into my family onto this site, but it really is going to be quite a task! [did I really take that many notes?!] In the meantime, if you have an interest in any of the names that I am researching please get in touch, I will be happy to share the [disorganised] information that I have.

The main names and family groups of my research in this area are:
JONES, JACKSON, HUNT, HALES, BROWN
